Operators commuting with the Volterra operator are not weakly supercyclic

چکیده
We prove that any bounded linear operator on Lp[0, 1] for 1 6 p < ∞, commuting with the Volterra operator V , is not weakly supercyclic, which answers affirmatively a question raised by Léon-Saavedra and Piqueras-Lerena. It is achieved by providing an algebraic flavored condition on an operator which prevents it from being weakly supercyclic and is satisfied for any operator commuting with V . MSC: 47A16, 37A25

Lenard scheme for two dimensional periodic Volterra chain
We prove that for compatible weakly nonlocal Hamiltonian and symplectic operators, hierarchies of infinitely many commuting local symmetries and conservation laws can be generated under some easily verified conditions no matter whether the generating Nijenhuis operators are weakly nonlocal or not. We construct a recursion operator of the two dimensional periodic Volterra chain from its Lax repr...
متن کاملON THE SALAS THEOREM AND HYPERCYCLICITY OF f(T )
We study hypercyclicity properties of functions of Banach space operators. Generalizations of the results of Herzog-Schmoeger and Bermudez-Miller are obtained. As a corollary we also show that each non-trivial operator commuting with a generalized backward shift is supercyclic. This gives a positive answer to a conjecture of Godefroy and Shapiro. Furthermore, we show that the norm-closures of t...
متن کاملThe Sums and Products of Commuting AC-Operators
Abstract: In this paper, we exhibit new conditions for the sum of two commuting AC-operators to be again an AC-operator. In particular, this is satisfied on Hilbert space when one of them is a scalar-type spectral operator.
متن کاملON FELBIN’S-TYPE FUZZY NORMED LINEAR SPACES AND FUZZY BOUNDED OPERATORS
In this note, we aim to present some properties of the space of all weakly fuzzy bounded linear operators, with the Bag and Samanta’s operator norm on Felbin’s-type fuzzy normed spaces. In particular, the completeness of this space is studied. By some counterexamples, it is shown that the inverse mapping theorem and the Banach-Steinhaus’s theorem, are not valid for this fuzzy setting. Also...
متن کاملPower Bounded Operators and Supercyclic Vectors
Abstract. By the well-known result of Brown, Chevreau and Pearcy, every Hilbert space contraction with spectrum containing the unit circle has a nontrivial closed invariant subspace. Equivalently, there is a nonzero vector which is not cyclic. We show that each power bounded operator on a Hilbert space with spectral radius equal to one has a nonzero vector which is not supercyclic. Equivalently...
